WHY WAS ITPM CREATED?
Anton Kreil, an ex professional trader at Goldman Sachs created The Institute of Trading and Portfolio Management in 2011.
It was evident that retail traders outside of the investment bank and financial institution landscape did not have adequate education available to them through any platform. There were a large amount of educators that did not have a professional background and weren't teaching a professionally structured approach.

As a result Anton created The Institute of Trading and Portfolio Management to bridge this gap and to assist retail traders with a a professional and systematic approach to trading that emulates what is taught at investment banks and hedge funds.

HOW THE ITPM PROCESS WORKS?
ITPM represents an advanced educational platform for trading. To fully harness the breadth of education and opportunities it offers, one must initially navigate through a series of steps, starting with the completion of four available courses. During this phase, students benefit from continuous support via the ITPM Discord servers, which provide webinars, access to mentors, and interaction with fellow community members.
Following the educational phase, students have the choice to apply what they've learned independently. Alternatively, they can seek additional guidance by engaging in a 3-Month Mentoring Program.
Upon mastering and applying their knowledge, students are then poised to pursue careers at investment banks, hedge funds, and proprietary trading firms, armed with the expertise gained from ITPM.

Anton Kreil, depicts that retail traders can be placed within a competency hierarchy based of their experience and knowledge of financial markets before being introduced to ITPM. This model identifies 4 different levels of understanding of retail traders operating within financial markets.

The bottom tier is where students have no idea what they are doing.

The next tier up is where a student identifies that they don't know what they are doing but they now have the right resources & education to start.

The second last tier, the student has completed the education but requires to implement the information.

Finally the last tier is where a retail trader becomes unconsciously competent within financial markets.
At the final tier students are able to trade by themselves with a systematic approach that emulates the same process as professional traders.​
